CHS Music Boosters Meeting Minutes

April 12, 2007

 

Attendees 

Derek Askew, Cindy Lewis, Suzanne Reamer, Debbie Ruark,  Moe Ruark, Pam Jacobs, Tammy Richards, Jeff Richards, Maureen Stewart, Judy Bushey, John Bushey, Nancy Thompson, Steve Stephey, and Susan Stephey.

 

Call to Order

  • The Music Boosters meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Cindy Lewis.

 

Treasurer’s Report

  • Debbie Ruark presented the budget. The current Music Booster’s checking account balance is approximately $9,500 less than the beginning balance on 6/10/06 due to several unsuccessful fundraising efforts. The budget was motioned to be approved by Suzanne Reamer and seconded by Steve Stephey.

 

Music Director’s Report

  • Derrick Askew presented a draft of his 2007 music program budget to the treasurer. The spring music program trip to New York leaves on April 26th and returns on April 29th. The Spring Concerts will be held on May 1st and May 3rd.

 

Choral Director’s Report

  • Allison Holiday was not present at the meeting.

 

Ways and Means Committee

  • GL Scrip card program. POC is Suzanne Reamer. A list of all participating businesses is available at www.glscrip.com. Suzanne’s e-mail is suzo@dellmail.com. The GL Scrip card program has brought in over $1,600 since June of 2006.
  • Escrip program.  The Escrip program brought in over $300 in March 2007.  Please register your Safeway Bonus card with Safeway to participate.
  • Pizza Hut “Knights”.  Future Pizza Hut “knights” scheduled: Apr 25th, and May 23rd.  Mention Century HS Music Program and 20% of the total order will be given to Century Music Boosters. This applies to dine-in and carry-out orders.
  • Raffle. Music program students are selling raffle tickets for an ACER notebook computer during all lunch mods. The drawing will be held on June 1st during the Century morning announcements.
  • Vera Bradley “Bag” Bingo.  May 12th in the CHS cafeteria. Doors open at 6:00p.m. Games begin at 7:00 p.m. Please contact Suzanne Reamer to sponsor a bag or fill a bag. There are various opportunities to help that night with concessions, bake sale table, tickets, selling additional bingo sheets, etc. Please contact Susan Stephey with how you can help. Everyone’s help is needed and greatly appreciated.
  • Visitourmall.com. Please checkout “visitourmall.com” for convenient online shopping. A percentage of every purchase made through this website is deposited  into the Music Boosters account. Some of the stores participating include Old Navy, Staples, iTunes, Macy’s, Circuit City, Amazon.com, WalMart, et cetera. Simply go to “visitourmall.com”, click “Find Group”, scroll to and click on “Century High School Music Boosters”, and start shopping!

  • Moe Ruark motioned to adjourn at 9:10 p.m. and Steve Stephey seconded.

  • May 10, 2007 at 7:30 in the band room or media center.
