Music Boosters President’s Report
- Tony
Caracciolo plans to meet with Drew Cockley, CHS Principal, with regards to
school protocol for scheduling an audit prior to a change in the treasurer
position in early spring. This is standard business practice.
- Music
Booster Board nominations will be taken in March/April with potential
voting in April/May of 2008. Please consider volunteering for one of these
positions – It’s All About The Kids! More information will follow
regarding the available positions.
- THANK
YOU to all of the volunteers who worked and made the Knight of Reckoning
show a successful event. The Knight of Reckoning show had the best
volunteer turn out to date. Thanks Jim for a job well done. Volunteers are
still needed for our upcoming USSBA Championship show on October 20th.
If you are able to help, please contact Jim Kelley at jkelley.02@comcast.net.
- The
trip to Dover, DE has been approved by Drew Cockley.
All chaperones will need to have volunteer training that requires a
background check. More information regarding the TOB Atlantic Coast
Championship at Delaware State University
in Dover
will be forthcoming.
Music Director’s Report
- Derrick
Askew was not present at the Music Booster meeting.
Ways and Means Committee
- GL Scrip card program. POC is

loyalty cards (Safeway Bonus card), Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Discover, and debit/ATM cards) with Escrip and a portion of every purchase
will be credited to the Century Music Booster Inc account. Encourage friends and family to select
Century Music Boosters Inc to receive the credit. Cards must be renewed
before November 1st. To register as a new user or renew visit www.escrip.com.

purchase made through this website is deposited into the Music Boosters
account. Simply go to “visitourmall.com”, click “Find Group”, scroll to
and click on “Century High School Music Boosters”, and start shopping! Or
visit the mall through the Century Knights home webpage at www.knightsmusic.org.
- GoodSearch.com. Please checkout
the search engine www.goodsearch.com/.

search engine. The amount raised to date on GoodSearch is $26.09 through
September.
- PDP.CORP. This is a new and historically successful
fundraiser for other groups at Century. For 2%-3%, this company will
create a donation request letter, cover postage, and track all incoming
funds. Each student in the music program will be asked to provide 5 to 10
addresses of relatives, friends, or companies you have done business with
in the past. The potential income from this fundraiser if everyone
participates is quite impressive. More information to follow.
Marching Band
- Sponsored Show. USSBA is scheduled
for October 20th. Everyone’s
participation will be needed for these events to be successful. All volunteers must be “volunteered trained”. Please see
the CCPS school website for volunteer training locations and times. Jim
Kelley is our Show Coordinator and is in the process of contacting
volunteers. If you are able to help or have ideas/suggestions for the show,
please contact Jim Kelley at jkelley.02@comcast.net.
- Performance Status. As of this morning, October 6th,
Century is in 4th place for Group II in TOB. Our best start ever. In the USSBA circuit,
we finished first in our division at the Westminster show on September 15th
and received the highest score of all Group I and II bands. Additionally, for
our group we were awarded best color guard, music and visual performance
caption awards.

Ruark motioned to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. and John Bushey seconded.
