Call to Order
The Music Boosters meeting was called to order at 7:30p.m. by Tony Caracciolo.
Secretary’s Report
John Bushey took notes for Sharron Antolick in her absence in September and entertained the membership by reading his creative minutes. Minutes were approved by Scott and seconded by Dawn.
Treasurer’s Report
Scott Stewart presented the budget.
The 2009 Knight of Reckoning was a HUGE success. Net profit was $5100. Great job everyone.
Joe Corbi’s fundraiser netted a profit of $2861. Thanks Melissa for heading this up.
Script card profits totaled $800 last month.
Clothing sales netted a profit of $1600 last month
Derrick put in first requisitions for the Marching Band Staff.
Investments through yesterday, up 33%. $10,500 in March 2009, total $14,000 currently
Music Director’s Report/Choral Director’s Report
Derrick Askew sent out a questionnaire regarding a possible instrumental music trip this year but has received limited responses to date.
Lee Mitchell was not present
Melissa Adelmann re-capped the Joe Corbi’s fundraiser. Delivery/pick up date is Wednesday, October 14 in the cafeteria. A check in the amount of $5,929 is needed at that time. Volunteers are needed at 4:00 to help unload the truck and organize orders. Volunteers are also needed for pick up between 5 and 7pm. Sharron wll send out an e mail to the membership.
Melissa also reviewed concert attire quotes. Girls’ dresses are $85 each and are washable. Boys’ ensembles are $84 each and include 4 pieces: vest, pants, collar shirt and long black tie. At least 26 dresses are needed this year ($2,314) and at least 9 ensembles are needed this year ($756). Total $3,070. 6% shipping $184.20. Grand total $3,254.20. This would outfit this year’s chorus, with expectation that next year new members would purchase their own outfits since outfits are sized individually. Melissa also requested that some monies are allocated in next year’s budget for uniform replacement for needy students, ect. Sharron made a motion to vote and Judy seconded. A unanimous vote of “yes” was taken. Laura Moses volunteered to help with measuring students.
Judy shared that the Yankee Candle Fundraiser is underway until October 16th. Candy will be sold around Valentine’s Day and Cookie Lee Jewelry will be sold for Mother’s Day.
Melissa is organizing a Ledo’s Pizza night on October 12th.
GL Scrip card program Mary Laulis explained the program for new members.

Orders will be placed the last Wednesday of every month so that cards may be distributed at the following Thursday Booster meeting. It is very easy to place an online order and use PrestoPay (which deducts the card total from your checking account. There is a $0.39 charge to use PrestoPay.) Clothing Sales Christine shared that tote bags, black tees and crew neck shirts are being ordered.

eScrip. By using loyalty club cards (i.e. Safeway Club Card), credit cards (i.e., Macy’s credit card or Macy’s Visa card), and debit cards that have been registered with eScrip. There is a 6-step process to register any cards you feel comfortable registering with the program. Please register

This is a very simple way to raise money for the CHS music program! This fundraiser has the possibility of ongoing success but needs to be better promoted.
Choral-Dawn/ Melissa: Winter Concert is December 17th.
Marching Band-Jim Kelly not present. Thanks to all volunteers who made the home show such a success despite the weather and having to move everything indoors in 45 minutes. Yeah Boosters!!!
Laura Moses-Orchestra-Winter concert with chorus on December 17th. Band concerts will be on December 10th
Tony headed a discussion regarding the consideration of event insurance for next year’s home shows
Ian Burns will be asked if he would like to conduct the Pit orchestra for this year’s musical. Fees will be split evenly between Music and Drama.The fee will be $500. Mary made a motion to vote and Dawn seconded. A vote was taken and passed.
Deanne and Christine will head up the Marching Band Banquet on November 7th at 6:00 in the cafeteria.
Daniel Rodriguez will sing at Century High school on Friday October 23 between 9:15-10:15. All are invited to attend. Students from feeder schools will be invited as well as students from South Carroll, Liberty High Schools and residents of Fairhaven retirement community.
The possibility of purchasing a new grill was also raised and will be considered in the near future.
Next Meeting
Will be held November 5th at 7:30 in the Chorus room
