Caracciolo checked the stadium and to date there are no banners. He

School Board and Century’s principal, Drew Cockley.
- Home

that only eight business ads have been sold. Two schools coming for
competitions have sent in band pages. Finally, the Music Boosters will
sponsor an ad for the banner program.

Ways and Means Committee
- Vera Bradley Bingo. September 21st
in the CHS cafeteria. Ticket sales are underway. Bag sponsors are still
needed. Volunteers to work the night of the bingo are also needed. Please
contact Cindy Lewis if you would like to sponsor a bag or can help that
night. Baked items will be sold that night and volunteers are needed to
provide items. Please contact Judy Bushey if you can help.
- GL Scrip card program. POC is
Suzanne Reamer. Place your next order by September 21st (Vera
Bradley Bingo night). The turnaround time is typically less than a week.
This is a great idea for upcoming holidays and birthdays. A list of all participating
businesses is available at www.glscrip.com.
Suzanne’s e-mail is suzo@dellmail.com.
The GL Scrip card program brought in over $1,600 in the 2006-2007 school year.
- Escrip program. The Escrip program has brought in over $2400
in 2006-2007. Please register your
Safeway Bonus card with Safeway to participate. Cards must be renewed
before November 1st. It is a one-click process. To register as
a new user or renew visit www.escrip.com.
- Pizza “Knights”. Michelle Harrod is checking with
Pizza Hut or possibly Ledo’s to schedule fundraiser nights. More
information will follow.
- Raffle. The idea to raffle an Ipod
was discussed. A volunteer is needed to coordinate this effort. Please
contact Tony Caracciolo if you are interested.
- Visitourmall.com. Please checkout
“visitourmall.com” for convenient online shopping. A percentage of every
purchase made through this website is deposited into the Music Boosters
account. Simply go to “visitourmall.com”, click “Find Group”, scroll to
and click on “Century High School Music Boosters”, and start shopping! Or
visit the mall through the Century Knights home webpage at
knightsmusic.tk.
- GoodSearch.com. Please checkout
the search engine http://www.goodsearch.com/.
Once you select “Century High School Music Boosters (Sykesville, MD)”
every search done earns our organization .01. For the month of August
(with very few people knowing about it) we made $10.32.
- PDP.CORP. This is a new and historically successful
fundraiser for other groups at Century. For 2%-3%, this company will
create a donation request letter, cover postage, and track all incoming
funds. Each student in the music program will be asked to provide 5 to 10
addresses of relatives, friends, or companies you have done business with
in the past. The potential income from this fundraiser if everyone
participates is quite impressive.
Marching Band
- Volunteers
are needed to sew cuffs on several of the marching band jackets. Please
contact Mr. Askew if you are
available to help.
- The
directors are very pleased with the progress of the marching band at this
point in the season. They are very confident that the consultant company
is moving our band to the next level.
- Sponsored Shows. Tournament of
Bands (TOB) ‘Knight of Reckoning’ is scheduled for September 29th. USSBA is scheduled for October 20th.
Everyone’s participation will be
needed for these events to be successful. All
volunteers must be “volunteered trained”. If you received training last
year, it is still valid until September 30th. Please see the
CCPS school website for volunteer training locations and times. There will
be a training session at Sykesville
Middle School in the
Cafeteria on Tuesday, 9/11 at 6:30 p.m. Jim Kelley is our Show Coordinator and is
in the process of contacting volunteers. He is in the process of
scheduling a band show meeting in the very near future. Time and place to
be announced shortly.
- We
are in need of volunteers to loan gas grills, canopies, and electrical
cords for the show nights. Please contact Judy Bushey if you can help.
Adjournment
- Skip
Campion motioned to adjourn at 9:05 p.m. and Cindy Lewis seconded.
Next Booster Meeting
- October
4, 2007 at 7:30 in the band room.
NOTE: A huge THANK
YOU goes out to the Executive Board for taking attendance and minutes in my
absence for the beginning of the meeting!
Respectfully submitted,
Susan Stephey
